Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Manager to join our dynamic team. You will lead and mentor a small team of DevOps engineers responsible for our 24/7 production cloud infrastructure (SaaS).
The Opportunity:
As the DevOps Manager, you will play a major role in the team, overseeing the DevOps infrastructure for both production and non-production environments of our cloud services. You will help make our vision accessible to our Fortune 500 customers while working closely with various R&D teams using a variety of cloud technologies.
You will be responsible for optimizing our infrastructure, ensuring scalability, automation, and cost efficiency, while maintaining zero downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers.
Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Manage the team's workload, set priorities, and ensure timely delivery of projects.
DevOps Strategy and Implementation:
Develop and implement DevOps strategies, practices, and tools to streamline development and deployment processes.
Oversee CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.
Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize deployment processes.
Foster new technologies in the cloud domain with an “always up to date” state of mind.
System Maintenance and Monitoring:
Implement real-time monitoring and alerting systems around all of our infrastructure components.
Provide 24/7 monitoring of our production environment..
Collaborate with development teams to ensure alignment between system architecture and application requirements.
Cloud Infrastructure:
Manage and optimize our AWS cloud infrastructure.
Design, implement, and maintain scalable, automated, and cost efficient infrastructure solutions.
Develop disaster recovery and backup strategies.
Design, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain production and nonproduction environments.
Security and Compliance:
Ensure adherence to security best practices and compliance requirements.
Implement security measures and conduct regular security assessments.
Define, implement and enforce roles and permissions for cloud infrastructure
Process Optimization and Automation:
Design, maintain, optimize, and automate CICD methodologies (e.g., Jenkins).
Design, maintain, optimize, IaC infrastructure(e.g., Terraform).
Utilize containerization and orchestration tools.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
Provide regular updates on project status, challenges, and successes.
Conduct monthly cost evaluation on our cloud infrastructure invoice, to maintain a responsible cloud budget.
Qualification:
3 years of experience in DevOps managerial roles
6 years of DevOps experience with SaaS products
Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Proficiency in IaC and automation (Terraform, etc.).
Extensive knowledge of system design patterns, microservices architecture, and distributed systems.
Extensive experience with building and maintaining aCI/CD systems and procedures (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
Experience with configuration management tools.
Knowledge in networking and internet protocols.
Experience in startup environments and B2B companies.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools.
Strong understanding of security practices and compliance standards.
Experience in monitoring 24/7 live production environments.
Ability to work in a dynamic multitasking environment with context switches.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem solving skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
